The minimalistic, load-bearing part made of curved Ibeams is perfectly able to bear the load of the designed elements such as the roof, kiosks structures, rails, the information system and was designed so as to be reminiscent of the vast spans of the industial interiors.

The roof part with it’s ‘transparent skin’ was designed specially to enhance the idea of ‘searching for the modern anguage of design’ expected by the officials. In our research in terms of detailing, technology and further maintenance we have discovered plenty of similar projects in which the ETFE foil was used readily partly because of it’s technical specifications, partly of it being an environmentally friendly material and partly because of the low cost construstion.

In our further investigations in terms of assemblage and systems needed to preserve the whole structure, we have discovered that the steel construction designed is more than efficient. We could easy hide all of the unwanted technical support such as the temperature and pressure supporting systems and therefore purify the form as much as possible. We were pleased to conceal all the necessary drainage and still venture to say that the whole cost of the project is perfectly acceptable within the budget.

And so the form, just like a stretched fabirc, was to remain as a coherent as possible not olnly in terms of the context itself, but also when it comes to all the essential technical support.
