For the photo series ‘Landscapes,‘ multidisciplinary artist Levi van Veluw created self-portraits by composing rural scenes on his head and torso, and then photographing them himself. Grass, trees, grazing animals, and rows of plowed fields rest on top of the artist’s body. The four shots that compose the series appear to correspond to the four seasons of the year. The Netherlands based artist writes on his website, “… a fresh twist is given to the obsession inherent in the romantic landscape of recreating the world and simultaneously being part of it.”
