A year and a half to start thehigh speed train Afragoladesigned by Zaha Hadid, this is the time provided for in the new tender prepared by RFI.
The new contest isaimed at the identification of a temporary association of companies (ATI) is called to continue the work stoppedin February 2012. The total amountof the contract is 79 million 500 thousand euro.
The New High Speed Station Napoli Afragola emerges from the idea of an overhead concourse for accessing platforms, enlarged to such a degree that it becomes the main passenger hub, in itself.
This is a through-station that acts as the nucleus of a new, proposed business park linking the various surrounding towns. It also allows two strips of extended parkland to move openly through the site alongside the tracks, opening and connecting the station to the surrounding landscape and business park.
A gateway to Naples, a well-organised transport interchange and a landmark announcing the approach to the city. Our concept is a bridge extending across the tracks, an urbanised public link shaped by a dynamic architectural language geared towards the articulation of movement.
Our dynamic architectural language is pursued further on the interior of the building, where the trajectory of travelers determines the geometry of the space.
